Keshava Rajagopal, M.D., Ph.D. Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon Dr.

Keshava Rajagopal graduated magna cum laude with a degree in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. He earned his medical degree, with honors, and doctorate degree in immunology from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Illinois. He then completed his residency in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, where he also completed a postdoctoral cardiovascular research fellowship. Board certified in thoracic surgery, Dr. Rajagopal specializes in cardiothoracic surgery. His clinical interests include coronary artery surgery, surgery for valvular heart disease, surgical therapies for end-stage heart disease such as heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support, surgical therapies for end-stage lung and pulmonary vascular disease such as lung transplantation, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy and thromboembolectomy.
